Impala Skate Diaries ✨ Meet Ankita

Ankita is here to shake things up! She’s all about empowering others and making every skate a statement. Read more as we unroll her story and get inspired by her limitless zest for life…

Hello, Ankita! First and foremost, we’d love to hear the story behind when you first discovered or fell in love with skating 💁‍♀️

My love affair with skating began at the age of 6, my mother put me in all extra curricular classes known to mankind and im incredibly thankful for that. Because now as an adult I can cherry pick which activity stuck with me the most and gladly, it’s skating. I am grateful to my friends and family for the kind of time, support and cheerleading that went into making me a confident skater. They’ve seen me start off with those iron baby skates, then get my first pair of quads, winning state level championships on those skates and eventually learning inline skates as an adult.

Where are you based? Do you have a favourite/secret skate spot you’d like to share with our readers?

I am based in Mumbai but I come to London twice a year to escape the weather and channel some main character energy on my impalas in this beautiful city. The one corner of the world that I’ll always hold dear to me in Brighton, I absolutely love skating next to the pier.

In true hustler form, we can see you’re a woman of many talents - can you tell us more about your “Wake Up Juice” business venture?

I am sooooo glad you asked. I am a big believer of putting love into the process of building new habits. Coffee was the first one I got started with, it’s literally the juice that helps me wake up and is absolutely sacred to me in the morning. The Wake Up Juice community is a group of creative professionals and artists across India who believe in this sacred ritual of making themselves their wake up juice. This community comes together via picnics that I host and merch that I sell.

What’s your support beverage of choice?

A triple shot iced latte with jaggery, or caramel! Even better.

What’s the best skating advice you’ve been given, or can give to anyone that’s reading this right now?

SQUEEZE THY GLUTES! BEND THY KNEES! FREE THY MIND!
