Skate Protective Gear - FAQ's
What protective equipment should you wear while skating?
Falling and making mistakes is all a part of learning to skate – so it’s important that you’re wearing protective equipment to keep you safe. We recommend that you always wear a helmet, and wear knee, wrist, and elbow pads to protect you from the bumps and scrapes that come with learning to roller skate, inline skate, or skateboard.
What kind of helmet should I get?
A helmet can help protect your head and keep you safe while roller skating, inline skating or skateboarding. We stock a small collection of both classic and certified helmets from Protec that will offer protection for your head whenever you fall over. Plus, they come in a range of cute and fun colours and designs!
Why should I wear knee pads while skating?
Knee pads are an essential for both beginner and experienced roller skaters and inline skaters. The hard plastic caps and padding make it safer to ‘bail’ by dropping to your knees – without getting scratched, scraped, or bruised. Our youth and adult protective packs include elbow pads and wrist guards as well.
