Women's Skates - FAQ's
Is it better for roller skates to be too tight or loose?
Comfort is the main thing, so a snug fit that isn’t too tight or too loose is what you should look for. Skates can be uncomfortable if they’re too tight – so if you’re between sizes, we typically recommend going for the size up. Just be mindful that you don’t want your skates being so loose that they move around your foot and become hard to control. A thick pair of socks can help!
Are Impala roller skate sizes the same as shoe sizes?
Impala roller skates and inline skates run true to US women’s sizing. To get the best fit, we recommend selecting your EU or US women’s size to be accurate. You can use our conversion chart to help find out what that size is right for you if you’re accustomed to US men’s sizing. Our returns process is fairly easy if you don’t get the snug fit you want.
Should wheels on my roller skates spin freely?
The wheels on your roller skates, inline skates, and skateboard should all roll freely. If you’re noticing some resistance, then the nuts keeping them in place might be too tight. You can fix this by loosening those nuts with our skate tool a quarter-turn at a time until your wheels roll the way they should. If you think it’s your bearings that are the problem, you can try giving them a clean or buy a new set of ABEC bearings online at Impala Skate AU.
